How facility sedation training works
- Buy seats or request a quote. Pick the band that matches your headcount and pay by card, or request a quote if you need a PO or an invoice first.
- Assign seats from your dashboard. You become the group leader. Invite nurses by email or upload a CSV; unused seats wait until you need them.
- Each nurse completes the course at their own pace. Ten contact hours of moderate sedation education, module exams and case studies, with the CSRN™ certificate issued automatically on completion.
- Export the roster. One CSV with name, licence number, completion date, certificate number and expiry — the record credentialing files and surveyors ask for.
What surveyors and state boards expect from facility sedation training
Accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission, DNV and AAAHC do not approve or endorse individual courses. They expect your facility to hold documented evidence that every nurse who administers or monitors moderate sedation was formally educated for it and assessed as competent, and your facility’s policy defines what satisfies that expectation. Most state boards of nursing say the same in their own words, and some ask for competency to be re-measured annually. Facility sedation training: common questions
Does The Joint Commission require a specific moderate sedation course?
No. The Joint Commission, DNV and AAAHC leave the qualification to perform moderate sedation to the organization, consistent with state rules and scope of practice. What they look for is documented education and a competency assessment for each nurse, kept where a surveyor can see it. That is what the CSRN™ roster is built to hold.
How many seats do we need to buy for facility pricing?
Facility pricing starts at 10 seats, in bands of 10–24, 25–49, 50–74, 75–99 and 100+. Every seat on the order is charged at that band’s rate, and unused seats never expire. Two to nine people enroll as a group instead.
How long is a CSRN™ certificate valid?
Two years from completion. Where your state board asks for competency to be re-measured annually, that is documentation your facility keeps on the roster; the credential itself runs two years, so a seat is a two-year purchase, not a yearly one.
Do our nurses need an RN license?
Any healthcare professional you enroll may take the course, and everyone who completes it earns the 10 contact hours of continuing-education credit. The CSRN™ certificate itself is issued only to Registered Nurses holding a current, valid RN license, recorded from the license type, number and state entered for each learner.
What does the facility dashboard show?
Every assigned seat on one screen: name, licence number, progress, completion date, certificate number and expiry, with a one-click CSV download. Group leaders assign seats, follow progress and export the roster without contacting us.
Can we pay by purchase order or invoice?

Is the course approved for continuing education?
Yes. The course carries 10 contact hours approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 17185, for every nurse who completes it.
